Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Date Night Look

I am still make-up shy and don't really like posting up pictures of myself after putting on make-up - but for this Influenster badge challenge, I did put up a selfie on Twitter! :D

I'm recreating my Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Date Night Look using what I am most comfortable with - my keyboard and words. I think this mousse is really great for its value and you're able to get a lot of use out of the tube.

So personally, I don't like to apply too much makeup because my skin is still not completely used to being covered, especially when its more coverage than usual. I start off my look light, with a layer of Curel's lotion on my face. I feel like this really evens out my skin tone and calms down any trouble spots and prevents my face from drying up. Then I take a small amount of the Stay Matte Liquid Mousse (which I received in True Beige courtesy of Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes) and squeeze it onto the back of my hand. I use my little Beauty Blender dupe (found one from eBay for about $1!) and take a little and dab it onto my face. I usually start on my cheeks before evening out my face, hitting my pores, dark eye circles and any other pimple trouble spots. Like I said, this mousse is able to take you a long way - a small amount of the mousse can give you a lot of coverage. I make sure that my skin is even before finishing the foundation layer. Sometimes I do feel like when I am in the sun, my skin reflects a much paler and chalkier/cakey version of my face than I would like, so I always try to keep the layer minimal.

Afterwards, I usually go for the eye-liner, lining my bottom water-line with my Urban Decay 24/7 black liner in Zero (or the new velvet Urbay Decay liner) and the top of my eyelids with a simple liquid eyeliner (currently using Be a Bombshell's liquid liner). After the liner dries, I'll use my eyelash curler to curl my lashes before applying my CoverGirl's lashblash masacara. I usually am pretty much done by this point, but depending on where I'm going and what I'm eating, I might or might not apply some blush to my cheeks; I use Benetint's brush and apply a few drops of red onto my cheeks as well as Josie Maran's cheek and lip stain to apply a few strokes to the apples of my cheeks. And last but not least, a layer of lipgloss/lipstick! I am currently using Bare Mineral's Marvelous Moxie lipgloss, which I love! I do recommend using a primer before applying make-up, but I don't really have a great one and haven't found the time to invest in a good one yet. Sometimes I will apply the primer instead of my lotion, but I don't really see a difference.

A good make-up look really depends on the foundation, and Stay Matte Liquid Mousse from Rimmel London really nails it for me! Since a little goes a long way, I'm able to use this little tube of foundation for a very long time ... and get super coverage along the way!
