Review of Cetaphil's Moisturizing Cream

Ah, I am incredibly in love with Cetaphil! It works WONDERS for my skin, especially in the winter and cold, dry weather. Since I'm not in CA at the moment and in a very windy and dry city, this has been super amazing to have with me. My hands have gotten so dry and chapped that a rash started to form. Luckily I dabbed a little Cetaphil before I sleep and in the morning, and it has really soothed the rash and kept my skin feeling and looking refreshed.

I also use Cetaphil for those dry areas like the heels of my feet and my elbows. Great way to stay smooth without breaking your bank. Affordable and workable! Definitely recommend.

Sally Hansen's AirBrush Legs

I received another product from Influenster's Bella VoxBox - Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs, a cream you apply to your legs that can even out and provide color to your legs ... getting you ready for summer!

I received the shade medium, which matches my arms quite well. As my legs do not receive too much sun action, they are quite pale. Applying the cream to my legs really helped provide that brown/tan color without needing to step foot into the sun! Amazing. And it's moisturizing and feels great!

You can find this product in your local drugstores in the nail care aisle along with all of Sally Hansen's other products! I definitely recommend applying to your legs, waiting a few minutes as the color evens out, and then making sure your legs have the right amount before heading outside!

A great price for a really nice product!

Influenster!

If you guys haven't heard of a website called "Influenster", you definitely need to take notice of it! Especially if you like receiving free items - I first joined three years ago, and since then, I have received 4-5 VoxBoxes that contain free full-sized samples of items that I can use, test, review and share.

Here's how it works:
  • you sign up on www.Influester.com
  • fill out the required questions and connect your account to your social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) - the more friends and followers you have, the higher your social impact score will be.
  • review products that you have tested
  • become an expert in three subject areas to receive badges - write reviews, take surveys, answer questions
  • if you are selected for a campaign, you will be alerted on your dashboard. There's a certain time limit where you have to accept the campaign, check in your box when you receive it, review items/do specific tasks to receive brand badges, and fill out a concluding survey.
My favorite VoxBox was the College VoxBox where I received a free and complimentary box stuffed with samples from Influester that was geared towards college and university students. There was candy, deodorant, make-up, snacks, protein bar ... I was so surprised at the quality of the items that I knew this website was amazing!

I also think the Virtual VoxBox tasks are pretty neat, too. I feel like Influenster has had a few eBay tasks where I made collections and wrote guides that were published on eBay. In exchange for my efforts, I received gift cards to eBay from $10 and $25!

Not only does Influenster send out boxes, but they have products that are new and upcoming that the companies want the public to test. If you're among the general target audience, you definitely have a chance! I tried out Dishwasher soap, Dr. Scholl's gel inserts ... all amazing and all free! Definitely give it a try to see if you like it as much as I do!

Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Date Night Look

I am still make-up shy and don't really like posting up pictures of myself after putting on make-up - but for this Influenster badge challenge, I did put up a selfie on Twitter! :D

I'm recreating my Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Date Night Look using what I am most comfortable with - my keyboard and words. I think this mousse is really great for its value and you're able to get a lot of use out of the tube.

So personally, I don't like to apply too much makeup because my skin is still not completely used to being covered, especially when its more coverage than usual. I start off my look light, with a layer of Curel's lotion on my face. I feel like this really evens out my skin tone and calms down any trouble spots and prevents my face from drying up. Then I take a small amount of the Stay Matte Liquid Mousse (which I received in True Beige courtesy of Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes) and squeeze it onto the back of my hand. I use my little Beauty Blender dupe (found one from eBay for about $1!) and take a little and dab it onto my face. I usually start on my cheeks before evening out my face, hitting my pores, dark eye circles and any other pimple trouble spots. Like I said, this mousse is able to take you a long way - a small amount of the mousse can give you a lot of coverage. I make sure that my skin is even before finishing the foundation layer. Sometimes I do feel like when I am in the sun, my skin reflects a much paler and chalkier/cakey version of my face than I would like, so I always try to keep the layer minimal.

Afterwards, I usually go for the eye-liner, lining my bottom water-line with my Urban Decay 24/7 black liner in Zero (or the new velvet Urbay Decay liner) and the top of my eyelids with a simple liquid eyeliner (currently using Be a Bombshell's liquid liner). After the liner dries, I'll use my eyelash curler to curl my lashes before applying my CoverGirl's lashblash masacara. I usually am pretty much done by this point, but depending on where I'm going and what I'm eating, I might or might not apply some blush to my cheeks; I use Benetint's brush and apply a few drops of red onto my cheeks as well as Josie Maran's cheek and lip stain to apply a few strokes to the apples of my cheeks. And last but not least, a layer of lipgloss/lipstick! I am currently using Bare Mineral's Marvelous Moxie lipgloss, which I love! I do recommend using a primer before applying make-up, but I don't really have a great one and haven't found the time to invest in a good one yet. Sometimes I will apply the primer instead of my lotion, but I don't really see a difference.

A good make-up look really depends on the foundation, and Stay Matte Liquid Mousse from Rimmel London really nails it for me! Since a little goes a long way, I'm able to use this little tube of foundation for a very long time ... and get super coverage along the way!

Review of Playtex® Sport® Fresh Balance™ tampons

I received this other useful product from my Influenster UniVoxBox - a box of Playtex sport fresh balance tampons that are designed for the more active girl/woman as she goes about her hectic life. It advertises a plastic applicator, flex fit to trap leaks, odor shield, and 360 degree protection, especially when playing sports! I would definitely recommend using Playtex if you're trying out tampons for the first time. The plastic applicator makes a much better difference than a cardboard one, and overall I have felt protection from Playtex than any other brand.

You can purchase these at drugstores or from Target or Walmart. They run for $4-$5 for a box of 16. Definitely check these out if you're in need of better protection and coverage especially when exercising (swim team, anyone?).

Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure

A new goody I received from my Influenster UniVoxBox a few weeks ago - the Broadway Nails impress Press-on Manicure! I have tried these before, but this was the first time I got a design I really liked. The other few times were also great, but I was not too big on zebra and giraffe print.

What's great about the Broadway Press-On Manicure is that it saves you the hassle of applying coat after coat onto your nail to get the right consistency, before applying top coat and waiting for the nails to dry and then worrying about chipping them! These are already beautifully designed, with a variety of sizes to choose from so that you can find the right size. All you have to do is take off the back peeling (the tab is located at the cuticle) and press it onto your nail. It is as simple as that! For me, I had to really hold the nail down tight so that all sides were firmly taped down onto my nail because I realized that if I didn't do so, the sides would ride up. They last up to a week, as guaranteed by Broadway, if you apply them correctly to your nails. And in order to remove the nails, you can gently pry them off your fingers or use nail polish remover at the side to get them to come off. I've heard that you can soak the nails in hot water for easier removal, but I haven't tried that before.

I feel like the nails do stick well, but I do get scared of them falling off because it doesn't feel as sturdy as acrylics. Also, it was hard to find the right shape for my thumb (I think it's because my thumb is so fat!) - other than that, this product is really great and affordable! $7.99 for designed nails and $5.99 for colored ones. I love how easy it is to use (especially when I spend so much time painting my nails to get it just right) and how great the packaging is! It comes in a little plastic nail polish look-alike container, which I think is really cute!

You can find these at any drugstores or at Walmart!

Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas

I personally love facial masks of all kind. I feel like I can really feel the masks working on my skin right when I use them! So when I received the Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spa mask in my Influenster Violet VoxBox, I was quite thrilled. A new mask to test out? Yes please. And it advocates smoother skin right after using it.

The mask is made from real mud, sea kelp and dead sea. Right after I opened the package, this incredible smell came from the mask - a very light, clean and soapy smell. I really really like it! So directions: clean mask, apply it and relax for 10-15 minutes, massage face afterwards and then rinse. It states that you can "breathe life back into skin with intensity" and is made with all natural ingredients.

The company is against animal testing and advocates greenness. Packaging is great and the mask is easy to use. After using it, my face does feel a bit softer, although there isn't that big of a difference from before. I did like the cool, tingling effect when the mask was on my face. It was almost too cool for me to handle! However I only used it one time, so wasn't able to see the true effect this mask can produce.

Overall, a good product that I would definitely try another time. I think I would prefer to use the mud mask as a lotion to apply to my face than a disposable mask. Check out www.montagnejeunesse.com for more info!
